1,216cc-Powered 1991 Suzuki GSX-R1100

This 1991 Suzuki GSX-R1100 was acquired by the seller in 2006, reportedly from its original owner, and it was modified in 2018 by Orient Express Racing of Brentwood, New York. Its 1,052cc inline-four was rebuilt to displace 1,216cc and the gears in its five-speed transmission were undercut. The bike was fitted with a Yoshimura exhaust system, Mikuni flat-slide carburetors, an inverted fork, a 240-width rear tire, a shift light, an ignition tether, and color-coordinating rider and passenger seats. This GSX-R1100 is now offered with an owner’s manual, parts and service books, spare parts, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

The fully faired bodywork is finished in red and black and mounted over a polished aluminum twin-spar frame. Additional features include color-coordinating rider and passenger seats, a tinted windscreen, a passenger grab bar, rear-set foot controls, and a side stand. Photos showing paint details can be viewed in the gallery.

Aftermarket 17″ front and 18″ rear wheels are mounted with 120/70 and 240/40 Avon and Shinko tires, respectively. Adjustable suspension consists of an inverted fork set up for a 190-pound rider as well as a remote-reservoir monoshock attached to the Full-Floater linkage and a swingarm from a 1996 GSX-R750. Stopping power is provided by a single disc and four-piston caliper from a 1996 GSX-R750  up front in addition to a single disc and a twin-piston caliper at the rear. The bike has been fitted with braided stainless-steel hoses, and the discs and pads were replaced in 2024.

Clip-on handlebars with bar-end weights are secured above the upper triple clamp, and the bike is equipped with a steering damper. The throttle cables have been replaced and a shift light and an ignition tether have been added. Instrumentation consists of a 190-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 12k-rpm redline, and indicator lights. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 28k miles, approximately 10k of which have been ridden under current ownership. The front wheel does not have an odometer cable hook-up, so that odometer does not work. Total mileage is unknown.

The air-cooled 1,052cc inline-four was rebuilt to 1,216cc by Orient Express with additional work that included powder-coating as well as fitting 40mm Mikuni flat-slide carburetors, a four-into-one Yoshimura exhaust system, and a Dyna Shift Minder and ignition coils.

Power is routed to the rear wheel through an undercut five-speed transmission. The sprockets and drive chain were replaced in 2024.

An owner’s manual and spare parts accompany the bike.
