This 1976 Porsche 912E coupe was acquired by the seller as an ex-NASA/SCCA rallycross race car in 2023, and it was subsequently rebuilt as a Safari-style coupe. The 3.0-liter flat-six and 915 five-speed manual were rebuilt, the lifted suspension was overhauled with Elephant Racing products, and the body repaired and wrapped in camo-themed vinyl. The partially stripped interior features a roll cage, Recaro seats, harnesses, a Wilwood hydraulic hand brake, and a quick-release 9Haus wheel, and the car also features auxiliary lights, skid plates, 15″ Cookie Cutter wheels with knobby tires, a custom exhaust system, and more as described below. This 912E is now offered in Arizona with the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, and an Arizona title in the seller’s name.

The car was modified into a rallycross race car with a 3.2-liter flat-six by a previous owner and then featured in OffRoad Xtreme in 2018.

Following the seller’s acquisition, the car was disassembled, sanded, repaired, and the jambs, frunk, and engine bay were painted white.

It has been wrapped in winter camo-themed vinyl. and bumper-mounted lights were added along with a Thule rack.

The custom suspension uses Elephant Racing components, reinforced tie rods, extended-length Bilsteins, and 32mm rear torsion bars. Hankook Dynapro M/T 215/75 tires were mounted on the 15″ Cookie Cutter alloys, and the braking system was overhauled with rebuilt Boxster front calipers, SC rear calipers, and a replacement master cylinder and lines.

The partially stripped interior features a roll cage, Recaro seats, camo-motif harnesses, and RSR-style door panels and carpeting. The rear seats have been removed, and a Ram mount for a phone has been fitted along with a Magellan TRX7 CS Pro tablet and a Racekeeper camera system with front- and rear-facing cameras equipped with GPS telemetry.

The three-spoke 9Haus wheel is mounted on a quick-release hub, and the six-digit odometer indicates 239k miles – around 2k of which were added by the seller.

The car suffered from an engine fire under previous ownership, and a replacement 3.0-liter flat-six was sourced, split, and fitted with replacement internal components per the seller. The CDI box was also rebuilt, as was the thermostat, and stainless-steel headers were installed. The oil was changed in preparation for the sale.

The seller tells us the 915 was built with a limited-slip differential, and skid plates have been added.

A binder of records, a former log book, spares, tools, and coordinated luggage are included as displayed in the gallery.
