This 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL was purchased by the current owner on BaT in September 2024, and subsequent work included replacing the black soft top, timing chain and tensioner, spark plugs, valve cover gasket, tires, control arms, and shocks. Finished in Signal Red over Palomino leather upholstery, the car is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a removable hardtop, silver-finished 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels, fog lights, a Becker AM/FM/cassette stereo, electric windows, central locking, cruise control, and automatic climate control. This R107 shows 69k miles and is offered on dealer consignment with service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The car is finished in Signal Red (568) and features a color-matched removable hardtop, as well as a replacement black convertible soft top that was installed in September 2024. The two bucket seats are upholstered in Palomino leather, and interior equipment includes a Becker AM/FM stereo, an alarm system, electric windows, central locking, cruise control, and automatic climate control.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation, including a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 69k miles, approximately 1,800 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.5-liter V8 was factory rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque. The timing chain and tensioner, spark plugs, and valve cover gaskets were replaced in 2024, and the engine mounts were replaced in 2025.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The exhaust was replaced in 2025.
