Not too long ago, AYANEO teased that it’s working on the Pocket Play, an Android smartphone which also doubles as a dedicated gaming handheld. While the company has previously kept most of the device’s details a secret, it looks like AYANEO has decided to tease us with a bit more info about the device.
Like a considerable number of modern Android phones, AYANEO says that the Pocket Play will come with a 6.8-inch OLED display, which also features a 2400x1080p resolution, as well as an impressivley-smooth 165Hz refresh rate. Aside from this however, no other hardware specifications were mentioned.
The Pocket Play takes a similar approach to Sony’s long-gone Xperia Play, which was one of the earliest Android-based gaming phones on the market. It features a slide-out design with a full set of controls tucked underneath a touchscreen, and it even features shoulder buttons as well as touch pads in lieu of analogue controls.
The Pocket Play sets itself apart from other AYANEO products being that it is the brand’s first phone, a big leap from the rest of its hardware lineup which mostly consists of gaming handhelds. That being said however, no details on pricing and availability have been made available at the moment.
