This 1987 AM General HMMWV is an open four-door M998 that is powered by a 6.5-liter diesel V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The truck was acquired by its current owner in August 2024 following a refurbishment completed in 2021 by Black Dog Customs of Madison, Georgia. The truck is refinished in gray bedliner, and its refreshed interior features air conditioning, Corbeau seats, a MOMO steering wheel, a Bluetooth sound bar, and a Wet Sounds subwoofer. LED lighting and Black Rhino 20″ wheels are additional elements. This HMMWV is offered on dealer consignment at no reserve with a copy of the refurbishment invoice and a clean Georgia title.
The High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) went into production for military use in 1984. This one was built as a general-purpose M998 variant, and it was refinished with matte-gray textured bedliner in 2021.
Exterior details include LED lighting, stainless-steel hardware, a front brush guard, blackout lights, metal doors with sliding windows, and a receiver hitch. The Black Rhino 20″ hard alloy wheels are mounted with 37×12.50″ Kanati Mud Hog M/T tires that show 2021 production date codes.
The bedliner-coated interior has four Corbeau seats trimmed in black upholstery with contrast stitching. The air-conditioned cabin also has USB ports, cupholders, LED lighting, a Bluetooth sound bar, and a centrally mounted subwoofer.
Equipped with Bluetooth controls, a leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel fronts the instrument cluster, which has a 60-mph speedometer with a five-digit odometer showing 43k miles, ~200 of which were added under current ownership. The horn is not working.
The 6.5-liter diesel V8 sends power to all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and portal axles with inboard disc brakes.
