Governor Dapo Abiodun Signs ₦1.669 Trillion 2026 Budget into Law


Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has assented to the ₦1.669 trillion 2026 Appropriation Bill, tagged the “Budget of Sustainable Legacy,” reinforcing the state’s commitment to fiscal planning and sustainable development.


The signing ceremony took place at the Governor’s Office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, marking a 58 per cent increase over the 2025 budget and highlighting the administration’s expanding financial capacity.


Governor Abiodun announced that implementation of the budget will commence immediately after the holidays, with a focus on enhanced revenue generation and prudent expenditure management.


He emphasized the importance of signing the budget before year-end, describing it as a continuation of the state’s tradition of fiscal continuity, predictability, and effective governance to ensure uninterrupted development programs.


The governor extended appreciation to the Speaker and members of the Ogun State House of Assembly for their diligent scrutiny, timely passage, and collaborative efforts, noting that their work demonstrates a shared dedication to delivering lasting benefits to the people of Ogun State.
