how well will the steam machine perform

I don’t understand much about PC gaming, all I have is a work laptop that doesn’t run most games at all, I’ve thought about building my own pc but for the sake of price and simplicity I might just get a steam cube,

but I also heard people saying that it is not as potent as a ps5, and that put me off a little, I do not care about ultra high graphics, only for performance and whatever fps rate is considered good or very good without having to set down the optimization settings that the game already comes with

I was wondering if it could run demanding games like stalker 2 or helldivers 2
