Xiaomi’s efforts into strengthening its EV division have been nothing short of impressive, especially considering the numbers it posed this past year. The company ended 2025 by surpassing 400,000 total electric vehicle deliveries, a pretty impressive achievement for a company that only entered the automotive market in early 2024.
In particular, December saw over 50,000 units delivered, which exceeded the company’s target numbers. For those still unfamiliar with Xiaomi’s presence in the EV industry, the company initially launched the SU7, its first electric sedan which was followed by the YU7, a larger electric SUV which was launched back in June 2025.
Xiaomi has since expanded its operations throughout China, with around 477 retail stores in 138 cities. That said, the company is adding a bit more diversity to its EV lineup this year with the development of two new extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), which interestingly featuring gasoline engines to charge the battery on the go.
Finally, the company is reportedly setting its sights on the European market in 2027, and is currently working on developing its vehicles to conform to EU safety standards. This also means that it’s challenging the likes of Tesla and BYD, the latter of which has also seen considerable growth over the past few years.
