This 1974 International Harvester Scout II Traveltop was acquired by the seller in 2023 and was the subject of a mult-year build that was completed in 2025. Work included installing a 4.8-liter Vortec V8 linked to a four-speed 4L60E automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case as well as repainting the body in Sage Green, retrimming the interior in tan vinyl, overhauling the brake system, and retrofitting a Rough Country suspension lift. Riding on 15″ wheels, the truck is further equipped with a removable hardtop, front vent windows, a split front bench seat, air conditioning, an AM/FM stereo, aftermarket speakers, and a stainless steel exhaust system. This modified Scout II is now offered with an owner’s manual, a copy of the Line Setting Ticket, build photos, and a clean Oklahoma title in the seller’s name.

The body was removed from the frame and placed on a rotisserie, sheet metal repairs were performed, and the truck was painted Sage Green with a Vanilla Creme Traveltop hardtop as part of the aforementioned build. The trim was refurbished, and the windshield, seals, and weatherstripping were replaced. Further details include red trim accents, dual side mirrors, a roof rack, and front vent windows.

Vanilla Creme—painted 15″ wheels are wrapped in 31×10.5″ Centennial Dirt Commander M/T tires. The truck rides on a 2.5″ Rough Country suspension lift and is equipped with manually locking front hubs and power steering. The power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes were overhauled.

The 40/20/40-split front bench and rear bench were retrimmed in tan vinyl with patterned inserts, and color-matching material extends to the door panels and rear wheel wells. Raptor liner sound-deadening material was applied under the replacement carpets, and the air conditioning system utilizes R134a refrigerant. Appointments include three-point front seatbelts, a fold-down center console, an analog clock, and a push-button AM/FM stereo, and auxiliary inputs.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a horizontal-sweep 120-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, amperage, and fuel level. The seller tells us that the gauges were refurbished, with the exception of the ammeter, and that a GPS speedometer driver was installed in preparation for the sale. The five-digit odometer shows 20k miles, approximately 400 of which were added under current ownership. Total chassis mileage is unknown.

The 4.8-liter Vortec V8 was installed as part of the build and features an aftermarket air intake system. Blade-style fuses have been installed, and the wiring harness has been replaced along with the air conditioning compressor, condenser, lines, and hoses.

The four-speed 4L60E automatic transmission is said to have been rebuilt with a stage 2 shift kit, and it is linked to a dual-range 241C transfer case with a slip-yoke eliminator kit. A stainless steel exhaust system has been installed, and Raptor Liner bedliner material was applied to the underside.
