1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV

This 1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV was ordered with the Lipstick Luxury Group and is finished in Lipstick Red with a white vinyl roof, and it now shows 13k miles. Power comes from a 460ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and the car rolls on 15″ forged aluminum wheels. Further details include power-assisted disc brakes, a sunroof, and remote-adjustable side mirrors as well as automatic climate control, cruise control, and power-adjustable front seats trimmed in white leather with Lipstick Red accents. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2025, this Continental Mark IV is offered in South Carolina with an owner’s manual, a build sheet, a sales brochure, a salesman’s booklet, and a clean Wisconsin title.

The Mark IV debuted for the 1972 model year and was stretched four inches over the outgoing Mark III. Opera windows were added as a standard feature, and vacuum-operated headlight covers returned from the previous generation. This example is finished in Lipstick Red (2U) with white pinstripes, a white vinyl roof, a power-operated sunroof, cornering lights, a power-telescoping antenna, and remote-adjustable side mirrors.

The 15″ forged aluminum wheels are wrapped in 235/75 Hankook Optimo H724 thin-whitewall tires. Braking is provided by power-assisted discs at each corner.

The cabin houses power-adjustable front seats and a rear bench upholstered in white leather with Lipstick Red accents. Floormats line the footwells, and appointments include automatic climate control, a Quadrasonic stereo, and power windows and locks.

The multifunction steering wheel features cruise control buttons and fronts a 120-mph speedometer and a central fuel-level gauge. The clock does not work. The five-digit odometer shows 13k miles, approximately 20 of which have been added by the selling dealer.

The 460ci V8 was factory equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and was rated at 202 horsepower when new.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a C-6 three-speed automatic transmission.

Decoding the door jamb sticker reveals the following information:

  • Body: 65D – Continental Mark IV two-door hardtop
  • Paint: 2U – Lipstick Red paint
  • Trim: DN – White and red leather upholstery
  • Trans: U – C-6 three-speed automatic transmission
  • Axle: 2 – 2.75:1 axle ratio
