MANILA, Philippines — TNT flaunted a well-oiled offense as it plastered Meralco, 109-92 to grab a 2-0 cushion in their PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup semifinal series on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.
Calvin Oftana, Jordan Heading and evergreen big man Kelly Williams unloaded a combined sjx three-point shots as the TNT trio propelled the Tropang 5G to their second straight win in the best-of-seven series.
TNT connected 12 triples, and shot 55 percent from the field.
The Tropang 5G’s defense also held the Bolts to just 41 percent from the floor.
Oftana led TNT with 26 points, Heading 24, while Williams and Roger Pogoy contributed 12 apiece.
Chris Newsome and Cliff Hodge scored 18 points each for Meralco, which missed the services of active consultant Nenad Vucinic, who returned to New Zealand to attend to the wedding of his daughter.
