1957 Ford Thunderbird at No Reserve

This 1957 Ford Thunderbird is finished in Starmist Blue over two-tone blue vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 312ci V8 paired with a three-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission. Equipment includes a Colonial White removable hardtop with porthole windows as well as power-assisted brakes and steering, a heater, power windows, a Custom Autosound stereo, air conditioning, chrome bumpers, and 14″ steel wheels with whitewall tires. The car was purchased by the current owner on BaT in August 2023, and approximately 10 miles have been added since. This Thunderbird is now offered at no reserve by the selling dealer with a clean New Jersey title.

The car is finished in Starmist Blue, and equipment includes a Colonial White removable hardtop with porthole windows along with a Thunderbird nose emblem, a hood scoop, an egg-crate grille, slanted tail fins, and chrome bumpers. Discoloration is noted where the hardtop seals to the rear deck panel, and a chip at the rear of the driver’s door is pictured in the gallery along with cracking paint around the taillights and other blemishes.

The 14″ steel wheels wear turbine-style covers and are mounted with 205/75 Coker Classic whitewall tires, and a full-size spare is stowed in the trunk. Stopping power is supplied by power-assisted drum brakes at each corner, and the car is equipped with power-assisted steering.

The cabin features a bench seat upholstered in two-tone blue vinyl and is accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Equipment includes air conditioning, a Custom Autosound digital stereo, a floor-mounted shifter, power windows, and a locking glovebox.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a centrally mounted 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer indicates 9k miles, approximately 10 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The D-code 312ci V8 is topped with a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 245 horsepower. The seller notes the shifter must be in the neutral position to start the engine.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Ford-O-matic three-speed automatic transmission. The dual exhaust system has turn-down tips.

Decoding the data plate reveals the following production information:
