This 1968 Ford Mustang was rebuilt in 2018 by Classic Recreations with their GT500CR package. Highlighting the alterations is the supercharged 427ci V8 equipped with Holley fuel injection and linked to a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission and a 9″ FAB9 rear end. The car rides on a modified Detroit Speed suspension with adjustable coilovers, subframe connectors, and front and rear sway bars as well as Forgeline 18″ wheels and Wilwood brakes. The body is equipped with Shelby-style fiberglass modifications and sequential taillights, while inside a custom sound system, SCAT seats, a roll bar, and Old Air Products air conditioning were installed. This GT500CR 900S by Classic Recreations is now offered by GT Auto Lounge, a BaT Local Partner, on consignment with a clean California title.
Classic Recreations installed Shelby fiberglass components on the replacement custom steel fastback body before the car was refinished in black with contrasting stripes. Sequential lights were added as well as GT500CR badges, and the rear wheel wells are tubbed.
The car rides on a modified Detroit Speed suspension featuring an Aluma-Frame front end, a Quadralink four-link rear end, power rack-and-pinion steering, coilovers, subframe connectors, and front and rear sway bars. The 18″ Forgeline wheels wear 275/35 front and 335/30 rear Nitto tires, and red powder-coated six- and four-piston Wilwood calipers are matched with cross-drilled and slotted rotors and a hydroboost system.
SCAT Rally Series 1000 seats were installed along with a roll bar, and a rear-seat-delete kit was fitted. The Bluetooth-capable Kenwood stereo is linked a trunk-mounted Kicker amplifier and a matching subwoofer. Old Air Products air conditioning was used along with a custom console and deluxe door panels.
Classic Recreations installed a three-spoke steering wheel, a Flaming River column, Classic Instruments gauges, and deluxe dashboard trim. The 3,600 miles on the odometer represents the distance driven on the build.
The 427ci V8 is topped by a Holley Sniper EFI system and an intercooled Procharger supercharger. A Be Cool aluminum radiator was also installed along with dual cooling fans and MSD ignition.
A T56 six-speed manual transmission is linked to a 9″ FAB9 rear end. BBK long-tube headers are linked to a a dual exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers and a cross-over pipe.
The Classic Recreations serial number SCR0009 is engraved on a plaque above the Ford serial number sequence.
