This 1966 Land Rover 88 Series IIA Santana was built under license by Metalúrgica de Santa Ana S.A. in Spain, and it was refurbished in light green over black vinyl before it was imported from Colombia to the US in May 2023. The truck was acquired by the seller on BaT in September 2023, and subsequent work is said to have included replacing the carburetor, radiator, spark plugs, ignition wires, starter, and assorted brake components. Power is provided by a replacement 2.25-liter gasoline inline-four linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case, and features include 16″ steel wheels, manually locking front hubs, an Exmoor canvas soft top, a hood-mounted spare tire, a receiver hitch, center-facing rear bench seats, and a folding windshield. This 88 Series IIA Santana is now offered with a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
The truck features aluminum body panels refinished in light green in 2021, and a replacement canvas soft top was installed. Additional equipment includes a Land Rover front grille badge, Santana badging at the rear, fender-mounted side mirrors, mud flaps, and a folding windshield. The 16″ steel wheels wear 235/85 Black Dick Cepek Extreme Country tires, and a spare tire is mounted to the hood. The truck is equipped with manually locking front hubs. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel drums. The shock absorbers are said to have been replaced during refurbishment, and the seller tells us that the brake master cylinder and lines were replaced following their purchase.
The cabin was refurbished under previous ownership and features three-across front seating and inward-facing cargo-area jump seats upholstered in replacement black vinyl. Interior appointments include replacement sliding windows, seatbelts, floor mats, and dashboard air vents. The windshield wiper motors, panel instrument buttons, and gear knobs were also replaced.
A replacement three-spoke steering wheel fronts a body-color dashboard, and centrally mounted instrumentation that consists of a 120km/h speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 8k kilometers (~5k miles), approximately 1,600 kilometers (~1k miles) of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
A replacement 2.25-liter inline-four was installed in December 2004. The oil was changed under previous ownership in 2023, and the seller tells us that work under current ownership included replacing the carburetor, radiator, spark plugs, ignition wires, starter, and starter solenoid.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Corrosion is present on the exhaust.
