This 1980 Fiat X1/9 wears a repaint in red over black upholstery and is powered by a 1.5-liter Lampredi inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. It has a removable black roof panel, pop-up headlights, fog lights, side air intakes, and 13″ Speedline wheels as well as cruise control, an Alpine cassette stereo, and bolstered bucket seats. The car is said to have remained with the family of its original owner until 2018, and it was acquired by the current owner on BaT in April 2020. This X1/9 is now offered at no reserve by the seller, a BaT Local Partner, on behalf of the owner with an owner’s manual, service records, and an Illinois title in the owner’s name.
The car is said to have been repainted in Rosso (171) under previous ownership. Exterior features include a removable black roof panel, a Vitaloni side mirror, pop-up headlights, Bosch fog lights, impact bumpers, and side air intakes. The 13″ Speedline alloy wheels are mounted with 185/60 Federal Super Steel tires. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes at all four corners. The brake fluid was flushed in 2023.
The bolstered bucket seats are trimmed in black and gray upholstery, and interior appointments include cruise control, an Alpine cassette stereo, a digital clock, a locking glove compartment, and manual windows. The dash is cracked, and the seller notes rust around the rear wheel wells in the trunk compartment.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts Veglia instrumentation including an 85-mph speedometer and a reverse-sweep 8k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 62k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The mid-mounted 1.5-liter Lampredi inline-four was factory equipped with Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection. The timing belt, radiator, and engine compartment cable were replaced, and the auto choke was repaired in 2019. The battery and idler solenoid were replaced in 2023. Service in October 2025 included repairing a battery ground wire and cleaning the electrical grounds in addition to replacing the fuel filter, air filter, and spark plugs.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The clutch hydraulic cylinders were replaced in 2023. There is rust on underside components.
The Illinois title carries a “Corrected/Dup” label and notes that “This is a duplicate certificate and may be subject to the rights of a person under the original certificate.”
