This 1959 Chevrolet Corvette was refurbished under prior ownership before being purchased out of California by the current owner in 2002. Finished in black over red vinyl upholstery, the car is powered by a fuel-injected 283ci V8 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential. Equipment includes a black convertible top, spinner-style wheel covers, whitewall tires, lap belts, and a retro-style AM/FM stereo. The rear axles were rebuilt in 2020, the fuel injection was overhauled in 2021, and the turn signals were repaired and the fuel sender was replaced in preparation for the sale. This C1 is now offered by the selling dealer—a BaT Local Partner—on consignment with spare parts, a service manual, an owner’s handbook, Corvette literature, old photos of the car, and a clean Illinois title in the owner’s name.
The car is finished in black with color-matched coves. Features include quadruple headlights, Fuel Injection badging, fender vents, a driver-side mirror, bright trim, split chrome bumpers, and dual exhaust outlets. The turn signals were repaired and a taillamp bulb was replaced in November 2025. The black convertible top is pictured in its raised position in the gallery below; a rip on the driver-side rib of the soft top and separation around its plastic rear window are noted. The seller notes chips and blistering in the paint.
Black-painted 15″ steel wheels feature spinner-style covers and are mounted with Coker Classic whitewall tires measuring 205/75. The car came equipped from the factory with an independent front suspension and semi-elliptical rear leaf springs.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in red vinyl along with a color-coordinated dash pad, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include lap belts, a heater, a Wonder Bar–replica AM/FM stereo, a clock, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a passenger-side grab bar, bright doorsill plates, and Corvette-branded floor mats. The driver seat has a split in one of its seams.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a sweeping 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, battery status, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 21k miles, approximately 14k of which were added under current ownership. The seller states that the odometer reading is not accurate, and true mileage is unknown.
The 283ci V8 features Rochester mechanical fuel injection and a DeWitts Direct Fit aluminum radiator. The seller states that the engine was rebuilt in 2004 and also that the fuel-injection unit was rebuilt by Jerry Bramlett in 2003 and was overhauled again by the same person in 2021. The fuel-sender unit and gasket were replaced in November 2025, and the oil was changed.

The Borg-Warner T-10 four-speed manual transmission is matched with a Positraction limited-slip rear differential. The transmission was refurbished by 4-Speeds by Darrell in 2003, the seller tells us, and the rear axles were rebuilt in 2020.
