An out-of-control bushfire in central Victoria has destroyed at least 10 properties, leaving a small town’s main street looking “like a bomb’s gone off”, according to the local firefighting captain.
Country Fire Authority captain George Noye said the Longwood bushfire was burning out of control and moved south-east to hit the town of Ruffy, about 175km north of Melbourne, where he also lives.
