21k-Mile 1999 BMW M Coupe

This 1999 BMW M Coupe is a black-over-black example with 21k miles. Power is provided by a 3.2-liter S52 inline-six linked with a five-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a sunroof, 17″ Style 40 wheels, heated sport seats, a Harman Kardon sound system, air conditioning, and cruise control. The car was sold on BaT in September 2022 and was acquired by the seller on the site in April 2023. This M Coupe is now offered in California with a clean Carfax report and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.

This M Coupe is one of 277 examples finished in Cosmos Black Metallic over black Nappa leather for the North American market for the model year. It has a sunroof, front fender vents, a rear window wiper, and quad exhaust outlets. The seller notes a chip in the right side of the hood. The photos in the listing and the gallery below were taken in August 2024, and the car has traveled approximately 500 miles since that time.

Silver-finished 17″ Style 40 wheels are mounted with Continental tires. The car is equipped with Automatic Stability Control, and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs. The brake fluid was flushed in late 2022.

The cabin features black Nappa leather covering the heated sport seats, door panel inserts, and center console. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, an AM/FM cassette stereo, and a Harman Kardon sound system. The air conditioning system was recharged in late 2022. The headliner is loose in some areas.

The M-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel features tri-color stitching and frames a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, a 160-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 21k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.2-liter S52B32 inline-six features VANOS variable valve timing and was factory rated at 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller notes that the trunk welds/differential mounts have been addressed.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.

The car has not passed a California smog test.
