Borno Police Command Disburses ₦18.38 Million to Families of Fallen Officers

The Borno State Police Commissioner, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, has distributed a total of ₦18,384,135.84 to the next-of-kin of nine police officers who lost their lives while on active duty, as part of the Nigeria Police Force Group Life Assurance Scheme.


The funds were handed over during a cheque presentation ceremony, according to a statement by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso. 


The beneficiaries include family members of officers described as having “paid the supreme price while serving the nation with courage, dedication, and professionalism.”This payout forms part of ongoing welfare initiatives aimed at supporting the families of deceased personnel.


Representing the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, CP Abdulmajid emphasized that the welfare of serving and retired officers, as well as their families, remains a core priority for the Force.


He advised the recipients to utilize the money wisely, particularly for the education, healthcare, and overall well-being of their households.


The commissioner also praised the IGP for maintaining the scheme, stating that it offers essential financial support and stability to the families of these “fallen heroes.”
