When loading websites and related content, your device, browser, router, and ISP do quite a lot behind the scenes. For example, when you type a website name into your browser’s address bar, the Domain Name System (DNS) needs to identify the numerical IP address for that website to load it. Written domain names are easier to remember, type, and enter into a browser than an IP address full of numbers. But the translation process here adds a time-consuming step to page loading, and the quality of your DNS affects how fast your internet feels as a result.
