1962 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Convertible

This 1962 Chevrolet Corvair 900 Monza convertible was refurbished in 2023 with work that included installing a rebuilt 164ci flat-six and overhauling the four-speed manual transaxle, axles, and braking system. The car is finished in white over red vinyl, and equipment includes a white convertible soft top, dual side mirrors, quad headlights, a push-button radio, and an electronic ignition system. This Corvair Monza convertible is offered with service records and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The Corvair was the first unibody model produced by Fisher Body, and this example is finished in white. Exterior equipment includes a white convertible soft top, quad headlights, dual side mirrors, reverse lights, and bright bumpers.

The 13″ wheels are mounted with narrow-whitewall tires. The Corvair’s factory independent suspension utilized coil springs all around and swing axles at the rear.  A dual master brake cylinder was fitted and braking components were replaced during the refurbishment, per the seller.

The seating surfaces are trimmed in red vinyl, and appointments include a push-button radio, aftermarket speakers, and lap belts.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a horizontal 100-mph speedometer and a readout for fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 98k miles. The seller states approximately 1k miles have been driven since the refurbishment.

The replacement 164ci flat-six was rebuilt before being installed in January 2023 and is equipped with an electronic ignition system.

The four-speed manual transaxle and axles were overhauled during the refurbishment.
