1964 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe 4-Speed

This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette coupe was acquired by the seller’s late father-in-law in 2003 and has been primarily kept stored in the time since. It is powered by a replacement 327ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in silver over black vinyl. Equipment includes 15″ turbine wheels, power-assisted drum brakes, air conditioning, an AM/FM radio, and concealed headlights. This C2 coupe is now offered by the seller on behalf of its late owner’s estate with manufacturer’s literature and a clean California title.

The fiberglass body is finished in silver and features flip-up headlamps, fender vents, quad tail lamps, and chrome bumperettes.

The 15″ turbine wheels are mounted with 195/75 Goodyear Invicta GL tires. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. Braking is handled by four-wheel power-assisted drums.

The cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl as well as matching door panels and carpets. Amenities include air conditioning, a heater, an AM/FM radio, an analog clock, and lap belts.

The three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 1,300 miles, approximately 30 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The car is equipped with a 327ci V8.

The engine stamping is shown above. The HF suffix corresponds with a 1965 model 300-horsepower, 327ci V8 for use with a manual transmission.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.

Decoding the trim tag reveals:

  • Style 64 837 – 1964 Corvette coupe
  • Body S5680 – St. Louis body number
  • Trim STD – Black vinyl upholstery
  • Paint 940 – Satin Silver

The title lists the license plate number as 9LID930, and the license plate on the car shows XLT797 and has a 1964 registration sticker. The car’s registration history is unknown.
