Auwal Rafsanjani, Executive Director of the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Center (CISLAC), has said that the United States government did not seek Nigeria’s approval before carrying out its recent security operation in the country.
Speaking in an interview on Arise News, Rafsanjani described the Nigerian government’s response as a “saving grace.”
He further noted that the U.S. does not require permission to act in pursuit of its objectives.
He stated that the manner in which former President Donald Trump announced the operation indicated that there was no prior discussion or dialogue with Nigerian authorities.
“America do not need their permission to come and do what’s intended to do,It’s clear in the way and manner by which trump made his pronouncement to carry out this action there was no discussion and dialogue” He said.
