Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, has said his administration will fully support local government councils that uphold transparency, ensure accountability, and implement programs that directly benefit the people.
This was contained in a statement signed by Hajiya Zainab Shu’aibu, Senior Special Assistant on Media Affairs, issued to DAILY POST.
Governor Namadi made the disclosure at the launch of the Taura Local Government Council Chairman’s Mega Empowerment program held on Thursday.
He said the chairman, Hon. Shuaibu Hambali Zarga, has demonstrated purposeful leadership through the introduction of an empowerment program aimed at improving the socio-economic wellbeing of the people of Taura, adding that the initiative aligns with the development vision of both the state and federal government.
According to him, “What we are seeing today aligns with our Twelve-Point Agenda initiated by this administration, aimed at improving the lives of Jigawa State citizens, with special focus on youths, women, and children.”
He added, “The establishment of the Jigawa State Youth Empowerment and Employment Agency (JSYEEA) serves as a strategic platform for job creation, skills development, and economic inclusion.”
“In line with our Twelve-Point Agenda, we are determined to create opportunities that will empower our youths and women, reduce unemployment, and promote self-reliance across the state,” the governor stated.
Governor Namadi further announced that the Jigawa State Government will soon empower another 1,000 beneficiaries in each of the 27 local government areas through the state’s Youth Empowerment and Employment Agency.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to partner with and support all local government councils that prioritize transparency, accountability, and people-oriented programs, noting that meaningful development can only be achieved through effective collaboration between the state and local governments.
