This 1984 Jeep CJ-7 has been registered in North Carolina since new, per the seller, who tells us they purchased the vehicle from its second owner in 2017, and it shows 99k miles. Finished in Sebring Red with a white hardtop over Nutmeg vinyl, the truck is powered by a 258ci inline-six paired with a four-speed manual, and it has power steering, turbine-style 15″ wheels, 31″ BFG KO2’s, high-back bucket seats, a rear bench, an Alpine stereo, and a sunroof. This CJ-7 is offered with manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The body’s Sebring Red finish is contrasted by multicolor stripes and graphics, and the truck has a body-colored grille, full metal doors, side steps, black wheel arch extensions, and a fiberglass removable hardtop with a pop-up sunroof. The turbine-style 15″ wheels were mounted with 31×10.50″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires in 2018. Unassisted front disc brakes are paired with rear drums for stopping power. The power steering hoses were replaced under current ownership, and the steering gearbox was adjusted.
Beneath a body-colored roll bar, the interior has Nutmeg vinyl upholstery, carpeted floors, high-back bucket seats, a Tuffy center console, a rear bench, Boss and Polk Audio speakers, and an Alpine CD stereo. The tilt lever for the passenger front seat has a broken handle.
A wood-rimmed Grant GT steering wheel fronts the dashboard, which has an 85-mph speedometer with a six-digit odometer showing 99k miles, ~5k of which were added by the seller, who adds that the fuel gauge and eight-track player are not working, but its radio remains in service.
The 258ci inline-six was factory rated at 102 horsepower and 204 lb-ft of torque, which is delivered through a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Under current ownership, a Weber carburetor was installed along with MSD ignition components, and the valve cover, fuel pump, fuel filter, PCV valve, spark plugs, drive belts, drivetrain fluids, and mounts for the engine and transmission were replaced.
