This 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SL has spent time in Alabama and Washington and now shows 75k miles. Finished in Astral Silver Metallic over blue leather upholstery, the car is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a blue soft top, a removable hardtop, 14″ Bundt alloy wheels, fog lights, a Becker AM/FM/cassette stereo, electric windows, and R134a-based air conditioning. It was acquired in October 2025 by the current owner, who subsequently resealed the steering gearbox and replaced the oil pan gasket, transmission pan gasket, spark plugs, drive belts, starter, tires, and brake components. This R107 is offered on dealer consignment at no reserve with service records, a hardtop stand, spare parts, a car cover, and a Washington title.
The car is finished in Astral Silver Metallic (735) and features a color-matched removable hardtop and a blue convertible soft top. Additional exterior equipment includes fog lights, a power antenna, and chrome-accented bumpers and trim. There is a dent on the hood and fender, and a scratch on the trunk. The 14″ Bundt alloy wheels are fitted with Hankook Kinergy tires that were mounted in 2025. The car was factory equipped with power steering and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, and Bilstein dampers are fitted. The brake fluid was changed, the steering gearbox was resealed, and the front calipers, rear brake pads, and rear rotors were replaced in 2025.
The cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in blue leather, along with a matching center console, door panels, and carpeting. Interior equipment includes a Becker AM/FM/cassette stereo, cruise control, electric windows, and R134a-based air conditioning.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation, including a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 75k miles, approximately 300 of which were added by the selling dealer.
The 4.5-liter V8 features Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 180 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque. Work completed in preparation for the sale has included replacing the spark plugs, drive belts, oil pan gasket, and starter.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission. The differential fluid was changed and the transmission pan gasket was replaced in 2025.
The Washington title carries an “Antique” brand.
