A RESEARCH and innovation unit of Ateneo de Manila University has been appointed as the country’s official coordinator for the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI), placing it at the forefront of selecting and training the Philippine team for the global competition.
The Ateneo de Manila Business Insights Laboratory for Development, operating under the John Gokongwei School of Management, will oversee the national qualifying process and guide the four students who will represent the country at the IOAI Global Finals. The international event will be hosted by Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence in Abu Dhabi from Aug. 2-8, 2026.
Known for its work in data-driven innovation and student startup incubation, the laboratory brings technical expertise in artificial intelligence and software development to the program. Its role includes designing fair assessments, managing nationwide eliminations, and mentoring students in preparation for the international stage. Philippine participation in the IOAI is a national undertaking.
