This 1966 Mercedes-Benz 250SE coupe is a European-market example that was imported to the US some time ago and was acquired by the selling dealer in 2025. Subsequent work involved reupholstering the seats, overhauling the brakes, refreshing the fuel system, and replacing the exhaust system, tires, steering parts, water pump, carpets, and ignition components. The car is finished in white over black vinyl and is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a sunroof, 14″ steel wheels with hubcaps, disc brakes, power steering, lap belts, and a heater. This W111 coupe is now offered at no reserve with a clean California title.
The car came finished from the factory in white (050) and was repainted some time ago. Features include a sunroof, a wrap-around rear window, front vent windows, European-specification headlights, and chrome bumpers. The sunroof rails were cleaned and greased in preparation for the sale and the headlights and fog light assemblies were refurbished. The paint is dull and various imperfections are shown in the gallery.
The 14″ steel wheels wear bright-finished trim rings and hubcaps with color-matched centers, and they were powder coated and mounted with 205/70 Hankook tires in preparation for the sale. The suspension includes an independent double-wishbone front setup with coil springs along with a rear single-joint swing axle. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes at each corner, and the car is equipped with power steering. The brake booster was rebuilt and the master cylinder, pads, lines, rotors, and front wheel bearings were replaced in October 2025. Additional work involved installing Bilstein shocks and replacing the tie rod ends, king pins, and power steering box along with the steering pump, damper, coupler, and hoses.
The cabin features individual front seats and a rear bench that were reupholstered in black vinyl in October 2025. Replacement carpets were also installed, and wood trim accents the dash and A-pillars. Amenities include a driver’s headrest, lap belts, a dashboard-mounted clock, and a heater. The Blaupunkt AM/FM radio is inoperative.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and fronts a 220-km/h speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 17k kilometers (~11k miles). The tachometer cable was replaced in preparation for the sale.
The 2.5-liter M129 inline-six features Bosch mechanical fuel injection and was factory rated at 150 horsepower and 159 lb-ft of torque. The engine bay was refinished, hardware was CAD plated, and the valve cover, fuel injection manifold, fan, and water pump housings were tumbled in October 2025. Additional service involved reconditioning the radiator, rebuilding the alternator, and replacing the following components:
- Water pump
- Thermostat
- Fan clutch
- Radiator and heater hoses
- Drive belts
- Valve cover gaskets
- Spark plugs
- Ignition coil
- Fuel tank and level sending unit
- Fuel pump and filter
- Electrical wiring
- Firewall pad
- Horns
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. An undercoating was applied to the chassis and a stainless-steel exhaust system installed in October 2025.
