Mercy Love Network takes Christmas outreach across Nigeria, empowers youths, supports widows, orphans

The Mercy Love Network, a humanitarian organisation, has carried out a nationwide Christmas outreach, distributing food items and empowering youths across several states, including Rivers, Lagos, the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja) and Benue State.

One of the outreach activities took place in Otukpo, Benue State, where residents received food items, household essentials and empowerment support as part of the organisation’s broader humanitarian drive across the country.

Across the various locations, items distributed included bags of rice, noodles, cassava flour, corn and other essential food provisions, as well as household goods. In some communities, motorcycles were also donated to youths to support transportation, small-scale businesses and livelihood activities.

Speaking on the outreach, the President of the Mercy Love Network, Mrs Mercy Amatemeso, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Mercy Divine Properties Limited, said the initiative reflects the organisation’s long-standing commitment to supporting widows, orphans and vulnerable Nigerians across the nation.

“We have widows and orphans under our care in many parts of the country, and this outreach is part of our continuous effort to support them and other vulnerable members of society, especially during the festive season,” Amatemeso said.

She urged beneficiaries to remain peaceful, law-abiding and steadfast in prayer for Nigeria’s unity and development.

In Rivers State, beneficiaries described the intervention as timely, noting that the rising cost of living had made the Christmas period difficult for many families.

“This support has really helped my family this Christmas. Things are very hard, and receiving food items like this has brought relief to us,” said Mrs Blessing Okafor, a beneficiary in Port Harcourt.

In Otukpo, a youth beneficiary, Mr John Ochai, said the empowerment support would help improve his livelihood.

“The motorcycle donated to me will help me move around and earn a living. This is a big encouragement, and I am very grateful,” he said.

Beneficiaries in Lagos and Abuja also expressed appreciation, describing the outreach as a demonstration of genuine concern for ordinary Nigerians.

The Mercy Love Network has previously carried out similar humanitarian programmes nationwide and runs scholarship schemes and welfare initiatives targeted at widows, orphans, youths and other vulnerable groups.

The organisation operates as the charitable arm of Mercy Divine Properties Limited, a real estate firm with offices in Port Harcourt and Abuja, and housing estates located across different parts of Nigeria.
