This 1968 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 was previously sold on BaT in April 2019, and it was purchased by the current owner after it was listed on BaT in May 2020. Work since January 2024 included fitting the 3.9-liter F inline-six with a Holley Sniper EFI system, repainting the exterior beige, performing a front disc brake conversion, rebuilding the locking front hubs, and replacing suspension components as well as the headliner, seat belts, window seals, and door seals. Additional equipment includes a floor-shifted three-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, dual side mirrors, and a receiver hitch. This FJ40 is offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner in Rhode Island with service records, spare parts, and a clean Massachusetts title in the owner’s name.
The truck was repainted beige with a white roof under current ownership, at which time rust was repaired and the window and door seals were replaced. The seller notes the rear window struts occasionally stick. Close-up images of exterior blemishes are provided in the gallery.
The 15″ steel wheels feature polished hubcaps and are mounted Interco SuperSwamper TSL tires. A front disc brake conversion was carried out, Old Man Emu suspension components were fitted, and the locking front hubs were rebuilt under current ownership.
The seating surfaces have been reupholstered in black vinyl, and work under current ownership included replacing the headliner and seat belts.
Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer along with gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 27k miles.
