Timberland Highlands Resort elevates signature ‘Weddings in the Highlands’ showcase

ONCE a quietly kept escape, Timberland Highlands Resort in San Mateo, Rizal has emerged as one of the region’s most compelling wedding destinations.

On Dec. 3, 2025, it officially introduced “Weddings in the Highlands,” its signature wedding showcase designed to position the property as a distinctive destination for intimate and refined celebrations.

The event marked an important milestone for the resort as it presented its wedding offerings to the public for the first time.

The bridal fashion showcase was brought to life by Chroma Hospitality, the same group behind Crimson and Quest Hotels, an award-winning hospitality group consistently recognized by Michelin and Condé Nast Johansens over the past few years.

Chroma Hospitality has long celebrated love across its destinations, and now brings this expertise to the mountainside setting of San Mateo.

“When we first envisioned ‘Weddings in the Highlands,’ we knew it could not simply be another showcase. It had to reflect what we value most about weddings – the emotion, the intention behind every detail, and the craft that goes into creating a truly personal celebration – paired with what makes Timberland unique,’’ Chroma Hospitality Assistant Vice President for Banquet and Catering Sales Eliza de Venecia-Reyes said.

The property emphasizes that a beautiful backdrop is only the start of a memorable life segment.

“What truly defines a Timberland wedding are the people behind it – its planners, service teams, culinary brigade and partners – who approach every event as if it were their own, ensuring each moment feels thoughtful and unforgettable,” de Venecia-Reyes explained.

“Weddings in the Highlands” was brought to life through the participation of designer Pablo Mendez III, Florista Events Styling and a talented hair and makeup team led by Kleng Totanes, with artists Yvonne Ragasa, Kint Batolamaque, Lars Cabanacan, Lennard Antonio, Lian Napao and Dom Moreno.

Amid the glowing backdrop of the sunset and shimmering lights of the metro from afar, Chroma Hospitality Vice President for Sales and Marketing Carmela Bocanegra praised the beautiful collaboration that made the launch one worthy of the books.

“What we witnessed was a beautiful collaboration of talent, craft and vision – exactly the kind of synergy that reminds us why weddings hold such a special place in our work. These moments are deeply personal, and it’s a privilege to help shape them,” she said.

“Timberland has always had the foundations of a remarkable wedding destination: distinctive views, versatile spaces and a character entirely its own. But this event highlighted something even more important – the commitment of the teams behind it, from culinary to service to our creative partners, all working with intention and heart,” Bocanegra added.

Timberland Highlands Resort Director of Operations Chef Ranuka Hettiarachchi said the event was just the beginning.

“It has been a privilege to showcase what this property can offer – its setting, its spaces, and, more importantly, the people behind every celebration. In our kitchens and throughout our service teams, we approach each event with the intention of creating something thoughtful, something personal, and something memorable for every couple who chooses us. We look forward to the many stories, milestones, and weddings that will find their home here in Timberland Highlands,” he shared.

Production was headed by Erick Reyes of Black & White Events Co., together with Frances Anne, Tim Films Studio powered by Pipe Dreams and Pipe Dreams Pictures, and Rex Pro Audio and Video for audio-visual and technical requirements.

The resort also held its online bridal flair from Dec. 3 to 22, 2025.

‘No more gatekeeping’

Timberland Highlands has been known as an elite retreat, a members-only destination. Since its integration into Filinvest Land’s growing leisure hotel portfolio, alongside Crimson and Quest, the property opened its gates to special functions, especially weddings, conventions, team-building and leisure activities.

For a minimal fee, the public can enjoy the amenities including use of the swimming pool, gym, hiking trail and children’s park which offers the freshest air outside Metro Manila.

Public transport from the town proper may soon be offered on weekends so more people can enjoy the mountain vibe and the sight of the sunset from a different perspective compared to when one is at Manila Bay.
