We Still Don’t Know How Much the Galaxy S26 Series will Cost, and Neither Does Samsung

As much as we’d love to complain, it seems that most smartphone brands nowadays are dead-set on increasing their prices, brought on by changing tariff situations as well as the rising prices of key parts and components in general. Take for example Samsung, which is reportedly still trying to figure out how to set the pricing for its upcoming Galaxy S26 series phones.

Along with rising costs of smartphone parts, mobile memory (such as DRAM) pricing is also expected to drastically go up, an unfortunate side-effect of increased demand for AI data centers. Coupled with smaller profit margins, this has now forced Samsung to somewhat push changes to lower the S26 series’ pricing.

This includes negotiating with suppliers for lower prices, using cheaper processors such as the Exynos 2600 for certain models like the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus, and even selling the Galaxy Z TriFold at a loss. The company is expected to still exercise caution with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is its most premium flagship device and as such will likely come with Qualcomm’s 8 Elite Gen 5 platform.

As it stands at the moment though, it looks like we won’t be getting any “solid” pricing leaks, at least up until Samsung’s big Galaxy S26 reveal later in February 2026.
