1959 Morgan Plus 4 Drophead Coupe

This 1959 Morgan Plus 4 two-passenger Drophead Coupe is said to have been refurbished in the early 2010s and was purchased by the current owner’s father in 2022. The car is powered by a 1,991cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Finished in red over black leather, the vehicle features a black soft top as well as side curtains, a tonneau cover, a fixed windshield, 15″ wire wheels, seatbelts, a Bluemels Brooklands steering wheel, and dual SU carburetors. This right-hand-drive Plus 4 is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a Florida title in the owner’s name.

The car was repainted in red during the aforementioned refurbishment. Features include a black soft top, sliding side curtains, and a tonneau cover as well as fender-mounted side mirrors, a central driving light, a leather hood strap, a fixed windshield, running boards, a flip-up fuel cap, and chrome bumpers.

This is a relist after the vehicle was previously sold on BaT in December 2025 and the winning bidder failed to follow through with their commitment to purchase. This was not due to any fault with the vehicle. The winner’s participation on BaT has been restricted and their buyer’s fee was not refunded.

Silver-painted 15″ wire wheels with knock-off hubs are mounted with 165-series Michelin XZX tires, and a matching spare is affixed in a cove located at the rear of the vehicle. Braking is provided by drums at all four corners.

The two-passenger cabin features seating that has been retrimmed in black leather. Interior appointments include a woodgrain dashboard and trim, a heater, lap belts, black carpeting, a rearview mirror, and door-panel pockets.

The Bluemels Brooklands steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 6k-rpm tachometer, a 110-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge for oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 43k miles.

The Triumph-sourced 1,991cc inline-four was factory rated at 100 horsepower and is fueled by dual SU carburetors.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.

The tag shown above is from Fergus Imported Cars of New York, New York. The engine number TS34988ME displayed on the tag corresponds with the VIN listed on the Florida title. The chassis number 4129 is stamped into the frame, as pictured in the gallery below.
