This red 1962 MG MGA 1600 Mark II roadster was refurbished around 20 years ago, and it was registered with its previous owner for more than 15 years. It was acquired by its late owner on BaT in February 2022. The car is powered by a 1.6-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission conversion, and it has black leather upholstery, chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels, and dual SU carburetors. This MGA 1600 Mk II is offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the owner’s estate with notes from previous ownership and a Georgia title.
Finished at the factory in Old English White, the car was repainted red under previous ownership, and it has a black soft top, a refinished chrome grille and bumpers, a driver-side mirror, and a stainless-steel luggage rack. Chrome 15″ wire wheels are secured via two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with 195/65 Goodyear Viva 2 tires. The car is equipped with an independent front suspension with coil springs and hydraulic dampers as well as a rack-and-pinion steering system. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.
The interior features low-back seats that have been reupholstered in black leather with a matching dashboard, center arm rest, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include a Smiths heater, hook-and-latch lap belts, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, and MG-branded floor mats.
A four-spoke banjo-style steering wheel was installed under current ownership, and it fronts Jaeger instrumentation that includes a tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 20k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 1.6-liter inline-four features dual SU carburetors, a high-torque starter, and a spin-on oil filter. The battery was replaced in December 2025 by the seller, who notes fluids in the vehicle have not been serviced while the car has been garaged for the last 18 months.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Ford Sierra five-speed manual transmission conversion.
