2006 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG P30 Performance Package

This 2006 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG is powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission and was optioned with the P30 Performance Package, which added a limited-slip differential, a second oil cooler, a revised front fascia, and an increased speed limiter. The car is finished in black over black leather and also has a retractable hardtop, a panoramic roof, bi-xenon headlights, Keyless Go, heated and ventilated seats, a Bose sound system, and an Alpine head unit. The seller acquired the vehicle on BaT in March 2022, and subsequent work totaling over $27k included overhauling the ABC suspension, servicing the transmission, and replacing the engine mounts, transmission mounts, and several timing components. This R230 has 81k miles and is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with an owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, a single key fob, a Carfax report, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.

The car is finished in Black (040) and features a power-folding convertible hardtop with a panoramic glass roof as well as bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, Parktronic parking sensors, fender air vents, and AMG bodywork including a revised front spoiler, side skirts, and quad exhaust outlets. The car also has an “F1 safety car”-style front bumper cover with side air extractors as part of the P30 AMG Performance Package. Damage is noted on the Carfax report in August 2023 and October 2024, the latter of which is said to be the result of the front bumper being repainted after the car was backed into.

The 19″ AMG five-spoke wheels are mounted with 255/35 front and 295/30 Yokohama Advan Apex tires. The P30 AMG Performance package added revised settings for the Active Body Control suspension, and the car also has an Electronic Stability Program and Automatic Slip Control. The AMG braking system incorporates six-piston front calipers, four-piston rear calipers, and cross-drilled and ventilated rotors at all four corners. The valve assembly for the ABS system was replaced in January 2023 along with the power steering/ABC pump, suspension pressure valve, air suspension reservoir, and several hoses.

The heated, ventilated, and massaging multi-contour seats are upholstered in black leather, and equipment includes dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, Keyless Go, and a Bose sound system. An Alpine head unit has been installed, and the removed stereo is included in the sale. The window switch assembly for the driver’s door was replaced in May 2022. They Keyless Go ignition button on the shifter does not work.

The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 200-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 81k miles, approximately 25k of which were added under current ownership.

The supercharged 5.4-liter M113 V8 was factory rated at 493 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. The serpentine belt, drive belt tensioner, supercharger belt tensioner, and idler pulleys were replaced in May 2022. A 60k-mile service was performed in early 2023, at which time the crankshaft position sensor and engine mounts were replaced. The alternator, battery, and hood struts were replaced and an oil change was performed in July 2025.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential that was fitted as part of the P30 AMG Performance Package. The P30 package also raised the electronically limited top speed to 186 mph and added a supplementary oil cooler. The transmission conductor plate and transmission mounts were replaced and the transmission was serviced in January 2023.

The Carfax report notes the aforementioned damage.
