MANILA, Philippines — Former television host and actress Kris Aquino has again asked the public for prayers after describing her Christmas to New Year break as “heartbreaking.”
In an Instagram Story posted on Monday night, the “Queen of All Media” showed herself lying in bed while wearing a face mask. Her sons, Josh and Bimby, were also in the room, with Bimby seen wearing a fever patch on his forehead.
“The Christmas-New Year break has been ‘heartbreaking’ – kakayanin ko pa ba? Prayers please, [I’m] sorry for asking again,” she wrote.
Hours later, a fan page on X released a detailed update about Aquino’s condition, saying the information was shared with her permission.
“JUST IN: With permission from Kris Aquino, we are sharing that she is currently back in the hospital after her blood pressure reached 215/118. She is now stable and under close medical supervision. Her primary physician is Dr. Mike Padlan,” Kris Aquino World fan page posted.
The same update said Aquino’s youngest son is also unwell.
“Unfortunately, Bimb is also not feeling well at the moment and is experiencing sore throat, cough, and fever. He is being attended to by Dr. Geraldine Zamora, with Dr. Katrina Canlas-Estrella given a visiting doctor’s pass. Bimb’s pediatrician since birth, Dr. Aye Nuguid, remains his primary doctor.”
According to the fan page, Aquino is being closely monitored by a multidisciplinary medical team that includes Dr. Jombi Lichauco, head of rheumatology; Dr. Jonnel Lim of anesthesiology; Dr. Nic Cruz, head of interventional cardiology and Aquino’s cousin; and Dr. Henry Lu, a pain management specialist, along with his team.
“Kris humbly asks for everyone’s prayers that her fever does not progress. She is taking all necessary precautions and is currently double masked,” the post continued.
Despite the serious update, the fan page also shared a lighter note from Aquino.
“On a lighter note, Kris shared that the new hair that grew back after severe hair fall has turned wavy—and despite attempts to brush it straight, ‘hindi sumusunod,’” it added.
Aquino has been battling multiple autoimmune diseases for several years. She previously stayed in the United States from June 2022 until September 2024 to undergo treatment before returning to the Philippines. She is currently based in Tarlac with her children.
Earlier this month, Aquino made a rare public appearance in a photo shared by her physician, Dr. Geraldine Zamora, taken on Christmas Day. In the image, Aquino was lying in bed with a plate of fruit on her lap, smiling alongside Zamora and Bimby. Zamora captioned the post, “Give love love love on Christmas day!”
