26k-Mile 1975 Mercury Colony Park Wagon 460

This 1975 Mercury Colony Park station wagon was optioned new with a 460ci V8, and it accumulated 26k miles with its first owner in New Jersey through January 2021, when it was acquired by the seller from his estate. Metallic brown paint is accented by a vinyl roof and woodgrain bodyside appliques, and the car is equipped with the Trailer Towing package, a roof rack, hide-away headlights, and power brakes with Sure-Track skid control. Inside, the bench seats are trimmed in tan vinyl and accompanied by an AM/FM radio, air conditioning, cruise control, a digital clock, and power windows and door locks in addition to folding inward-facing third-row seats accessed via a three-way tailgate. This Colony Park wagon is now offered in Virginia with owner’s manuals, promotional literature, a copy of the 1975 sales invoice, and a Texas title in the seller’s name.

This example left the factory finished in Dark Ginger Iridescent (5J) with a darker vinyl roof and woodgrain side appliques. It features hide-away headlights, a roof rack, a power-operated tailgate window, and a receiver hitch. The seller notes rust around the rear quarter windows as well as areas of touch-up paint. A crack in the woodgrain trim by the fuel filler door can be seen in the gallery.

Steel 15″ wheels wear slotted covers, and they are mounted with 235/75 Ironman narrow-whitewall tires. The car was optioned with the Trailer Towing package, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums with Sure-Track skid control.

The seats are trimmed in tan vinyl, and brown cut-pile carpets line the floors. Amenities include air conditioning, power windows and door locks, a remote-adjustable driver-side mirror, a Philco AM/FM radio, and a digital clock. A temperature gauge has been mounted above the glovebox. The window and door weatherstripping is aged, there is a hole in the dashboard, and a crack is visible on the rear passenger door panel.

A three-way tailgate opens to a rear cargo area that features foldable inward-facing seats with lap belts.

The steering wheel is mounted on a tilt column and houses cruise control buttons. The five-digit odometer shows 26k miles, approximately 750 of which were added under current ownership.

The optional 460ci V8 was factory rated at 218 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. A replacement battery was installed in 2024, and a fluid and filter service was also performed at that time.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a C6 three-speed automatic transmission and a rear axle with 3.00:1 gears. A pair of replacement mufflers was installed in 2024. Corrosion is visible on underside components.
