This 1968 Porsche 912 coupe is finished in Tangerine over black leatherette and is powered by a 1.6-liter flat-four mated to a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes 15″ Fuchs forged alloy wheels, disc brakes, quad exhaust outlets, bucket seats, and lap and shoulder belts. The current owner purchased the car in 2019, and the transaxle was refreshed in 2024. This SWB 912 coupe is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a copy of the Kardex, service records, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.
The car came finished from the factory in Tangerine (018) and was repainted under prior ownership. Equipment includes H4 headlights with chrome sugar scoop trim rings, quad exhaust outlets, fog lights, bright bumper guards, black windshield wipers, and a retractable antenna. The front trunk struts were replaced in 2025.
The 15″ Fuchs forged alloy wheels are mounted with Ohtsu tires measuring 195/60. The car is equipped with an independent front and rear suspension, and stopping power is provided by disc brakes at all four corners.
The seats were reupholstered in black leatherette and replacement door panels were installed around 2018. Appointments include front seat headrests, lap and shoulder belts, Coco floor mats, a radio blanking plate, rear vent windows, and a heater.
The wood-rimmed four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of VDO instrumentation including a 7k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, auxiliary gauges, and an analog clock. The five-digit odometer is believed to have rolled over and shows 23k miles, less than 5k of which were added under current ownership.
The 1.6-liter flat-four was factory rated at 90 horsepower and 90 lb-ft of torque and is equipped with dual Weber carburetors. The engine was reportedly overhauled under prior ownership and an electric auxiliary fuel pump was installed under current ownership. The generator was repaired in 2021, and a rebuilt starter was installed in 2025.
Engine stamping *1282605* is shown above, and a corresponding number is listed on the Kardex.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle, which was overhauled and fitted with replacement bearings, gaskets, and a second gear synchro in 2024.
The copy of the Kardex lists the factory colors and serial numbers along with a build date of January 19, 1968.
