This 1971 Plymouth Duster was fitted with a fuel-injected 5.7-liter Hemi V8, a three-speed automatic transmission, and a fuel cell during a custom build completed under prior ownership. The engine bay was smoothed, custom trim panels were added in the trunk, and the body was refinished in Snakeskin Green Pearl at that time. The car has also been modified with black 17″ wheels, QA1 front coilovers, Hotchkis rear shocks, Wilwood disc brakes, Scat Procar bucket seats, a Cheetah SCS gear-selector mechanism, a custom audio system, AutoMeter instrumentation, and matte black exterior accents. A tune-up has been completed under current ownership. Listed on BaT in May 2022 and sold in November 2024, this Duster is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a clean Oregon title in the owner’s name.
The Duster was introduced in late-1969 for the 1970 model year, and this one was refinished in Snakeskin Green Pearl with a matte black hood and graphics during the build. The twin-scoop hood has external latches.
Black-finished 17″ aftermarket wheels are mounted with 205/50 Toyo Extensa HP tires up front and 315/35 Toyo Proxes TQ drag radials out back. Wilwood disc brakes with cross-drilled and slotted rotors are utilized front and rear. The control-arm front suspension features QA1 coilovers and rack-and-pinion steering, and Hotchkis shocks are fitted at the rear.
The Scat Procar bucket seats and the rear bench are trimmed in black upholstery. The Alpine CD player offers Bluetooth connectivity, and a FAST fuel-injection control module is mounted to the dash. Other modifications include aftermarket kick panels with speakers, speakers in the rear deck, latch-and-link front lap belts, a Cheetah SCS shifter, and “Hemi Duster” badging.
A custom-fabricated panel houses AutoMeter instrumentation, and the digital odometer shows 3,400 miles.
The build included smoothing and refinishing the engine bay, which houses a replacement 5.7-liter Hemi V8 equipped with FAST electronic fuel injection, an Indy intake manifold, twin-plug coil packs, MSD ignition, and a dual-fan aluminum radiator. Exhaust is routed through tubular headers, a cross-pipe, and Dynomax mufflers. A tune-up was completed under current ownership.
A Hyperfuel Systems fuel cell is located in the trunk along with an Optima RedTop battery and custom body-color trim panels.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a replacement three-speed automatic transmission with a manual valve body.
