Hello to all the Europeans gamers!
I need some advice. I’m going to be moving to Europe very soon and I’m planing to bring my NTSC (US) consoles with me. I know from travel experience that plugging in my Switch is no problem with a basic plug adapter, and I’m 95% sure that PS4 and PS5 are also no problem.
However, I’ve heard that with some appliances and electronic devices there can be a problem using them in Europe if they aren’t designed to handle multiple kinds/levels of voltage, since it’s different between the US and the EU.
So, how would one go about playing a US (or Japanese since it’s similar) PS3, Wii U, PS2, N64, etc in the EU? I’ve heard that you have to get some kind of voltage converter or down-stepper so that you don’t fry your system when you plug it in, but they’re expensive and they look like they’re very noisy and inconvenient to use. So I wanted to check in with people who actually have had experience importing consoles from other places and using them in the EU. Can anyone give me any advice? What do you use for the consoles that you’ve imported?
Cheers, and thank you in advance for any advice or help with this!
TL;DR How to play my PS3 and older US consoles in the EU?
