This 1990 BMW K1 was first sold in California, and it later resided in Colorado prior to its May 2021 acquisition by the seller. Finished in Marrakesh Red with yellow graphics, the motorcycle is powered by a liquid-cooled 987cc DOHC inline-four linked with a five-speed transmission and an enclosed driveshaft. It is further equipped with an electric starter, a radiant heat reduction kit, Bosch Motronic electronic fuel injection, a four-into-one exhaust system, a Marzocchi telescopic fork, a Boge monoshock, a Paralever single-sided swingarm, triple anti-lock disc brakes, yellow-finished three-spoke wheels, a clear windscreen, a black and yellow seat, a removable passenger seat cowl, a body-color front fender, locking storage compartments, folding passenger foot pegs, and both center and side stands. This K1 shows 47k miles and is offered at no reserve with a rider’s manual, a bike cover, a tank bag, and a clean Alabama title in the seller’s name.
The aerodynamic bodywork is finished in Marrakesh Red (658) with yellow graphics. Features include an integrated clear windscreen, a black and yellow seat, a removable passenger seat cowl, a body-color front fender, locking storage compartments, folding passenger foot pegs, and both center and side stands. The seller notes that paint protection film has been applied to the rear storage compartments.
Yellow-finished 17″ front and 18″ rear three-spoke alloy wheels measuring 17″ up front and 18″ out back are wrapped in a Metzeler Roadtec Z6 tire and a Bridgestone Battlax BT20 tire, respectively. Suspension consists of a Marzocchi telescopic fork in addition to a preload-adjustable Boge monoshock attached to the Paralever single-sided swingarm. The anti-lock braking system features dual discs up front and a single disc at the rear.
The black-finished handlebar is secured beneath a shroud housing the ignition switch. Instrumentation includes a MotoMeter 180-mph speedometer, a matching tachometer with an 8,500-rpm redline, and a digital clock. Fuel-level and coolant-temperature gauges are located atop the fairing’s inner side panels along with a locking storage compartment and auxiliary switchgear. The six-digit odometer shows 47k miles, approximately 600 of which have been ridden under current ownership. The heated hand grips are inoperative.
The liquid-cooled 987cc DOHC inline-four features an electric starter, Bosch Motronic electronic fuel injection, four valves per cylinder, and a four-into-one exhaust system with a polished muffler. Factory-rated output was 95 horsepower and 73 lb-ft of torque when new. The seller tells us that the motorcycle has been fitted with a radiant-heat reduction kit, and the battery was replaced approximately a year ago.
Power is sent to the rear wheel through a dry clutch, a close-ratio five-speed transmission, and an enclosed driveshaft.
A rider’s manual, a motorcycle cover, and an expandable tank bag will accompany the motorcycle.
