MANILA, Philippines — Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa on Wednesday denied rumors that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was eyeing to replace him as secretary of the Department of Health (DOH).
In a press conference in Malacañang, Herbosa reiterated the statement of Palace Press Officer Claire Castro that there were no expected changes to the membership of the Cabinet.
“There’s no truth to that. I think Usec.[retary] Claire already said yesterday that there is no revamp in the Cabinet,” Herbosa said.
“But we, in the Cabinet, all serve at the pleasure of the President. So if ever the President wants to replace me, that’s the prerogative of the President,” he added.
Marcos is reportedly looking for Herbosa’s replacement amid controversies and complaints of incompetence in the health department.
