25-Years-Owned 1972 Chevrolet Impala Convertible 350

This 1972 Chevrolet Impala is a red-on-black convertible that was acquired by the seller in 2000 and is powered by a 350ci V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Work in preparation for the sale involved the rear main seal, oil pan, transmission pan, various gaskets, and components for the braking system. The car rides on 15″ Cragar S/S wheels and has a power-operated white soft top, a two-barrel carburetor, a replacement dual exhaust system, rear fender skirts, dual side mirrors, power steering, and power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes. Black vinyl covers the bench seating, and woodgrain trim, power windows, and a push-button radio are fitted. This Impala convertible is now offered with spare parts and an Ohio title in the seller’s name.

Finished from the factory in Cranberry Red, the car was repainted at some point under prior ownership. It has a power-operated white soft top, quad headlights, a crosshatch grille, rear fender skirts, and dual side mirrors. Weatherstripping for the doors and soft top was replaced in preparation for the sale, and two additional sections of uninstalled weatherstripping are included in the sale. Noted flaws include a tear in the soft top, dents on the bumpers, scrapes on the right fender and door, and wear on the chrome. The seller adds that the windows do not fully seal since replacing the weatherstripping, and will need adjustment. The right rear window intermittently requires manual assistance.

Cragar 15″ S/S wheels are mounted with 225/75 Goodyear Spectra tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The rear wheel cylinders, shoes, and drums have been replaced. Blemishes on the wheels are depicted in the gallery below.

The cabin features black vinyl upholstery on the two rows of bench seating. Interior appointments include woodgrain trim, a locking glovebox, a floor-mounted high-beam switch, a push-button radio, and power windows. The air conditioning does not work.

The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a sweeping 120-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer shows 85k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership. The fuel-level gauge is inaccurate.

The 350ci Turbo-Fire V8 is equipped with a two-barrel carburetor. The seller notes that the rear main seal, fuel pump, and valve cover gaskets were replaced in preparation for the sale along with the oil pump, oil pan, oil pan gasket. The transmission was also serviced with a replacement pan, filter, and silicone gasket,

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. A replacement dual exhaust system is fitted.
