This 1982 DeLorean DMC-12 was purchased new by the seller and his father, and it is said to have spent the last 35 years dormant in the seller’s garage. Now showing 1,600 miles, the car features unfinished stainless steel body panels over gray leather upholstery. Power is provided by a 2.85-liter V6 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, and equipment includes gullwing doors, rear window louvers, four-wheel disc brakes, 14″ and 15″ turbine-style aluminum wheels, air conditioning, power windows, and a cassette stereo. The car was fitted with a replacement fuel pump in 2021, while work in 2025 involved rebuilding the front brake calipers, installing a braided stainless-steel clutch line, and replacing the oil pressure switch, vacuum solenoid, thermotime switch, rear shock absorbers, and clutch master and slave cylinders. This DMC-12 is offered with a window sticker, factory literature, parts invoices, and a clean Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.
The Giugiaro-designed unfinished stainless steel bodywork is fitted over a composite underbody and Lotus-derived double-Y steel backbone chassis. Distinguishing features include gray urethane bumper caps, counterbalanced gullwing doors, a louvered engine cover, dual exhaust outlets, black side stripes and moldings, quadruple headlights, and a front spoiler.
Staggered-diameter turbine-style aluminum wheels are mounted with 195/60-14″ front and 235/60-15″ rear Hankook tires. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes at each corner. The front brake calipers were rebuilt and fitted with replacement pads circa July 2025, at which time the rear shock absorbers were replaced.
The high-back bucket seats are upholstered in gray leather and accompanied by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Appointments include air conditioning, a cassette stereo, power-operated windows, central locking, and power-adjustable side mirrors. The seller notes that the car has been fitted with a replacement headliner.
The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel is mounted on a tilting and telescoping column and frames an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 1,600 miles.
The rear-mounted 2.85-liter V6 was designed and built by Peugeot, Renault, and Volvo (PRV), and it produced 130 horsepower and 160 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The fuel pump and sender module was replaced in March 2021, and the seller notes that the fuel lines have also been replaced. Work in 2025 involved installing a replacement braided stainless-steel clutch line as well as replacing the oil pressure switch, vacuum solenoid, thermotime switch, and clutch master and slave cylinders.
