This 1984 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia was recently acquired by the seller, and work since 2022 included repainting the exterior and replacing suspension and exhaust components as well as the windshield, roof canvas, alternator, water pump, oil pump, coolant pipes, fuel expansion tanks, wheels, and tires. The van is powered by a water-cooled 1.9L flat-four mated to a three-speed automatic transaxle, and features include a rear-mounted Fiamma bike rack, a camper top lift-assist kit, sleeping surfaces, a Kenwood stereo, Pioneer speakers, and a kitchenette with a stove, a refrigerator, and a sink. This T3 shows 394k kilometers (~245k miles) and is offered in Canada with the owner’s manual, service records, and British Columbia registration.
The van was repainted blue in 2023, at which time the windshield, door and window seals, roof canvas, decals, light lenses, and wiper arms were replaced. Equipment includes a rear-mounted Fiamma bike rack, a camper top lift-assist kit, and a sliding right side door. Replacement mirrors were fitted in April 2024. The 14″ five-spoke alloy wheels from a later-model Vanagon wear General Grabber A/T tires that were mounted in October 2022. The van was factory equipped with an independent front and rear suspension and rack-and-pinion steering. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes. Recent work included replacing the rear springs, tie rod ends, and wheels.
The forward cabin features bucket seats upholstered in brown vinyl and patterned cloth. Interior appointments include manual front windows, a Kenwood stereo, and Pioneer speakers.
The rear compartment features storage cabinets and a two-passenger rear bench seat that folds into a bed. A second bed platform with zip-open windows is housed in the pop top. Camping equipment includes a kitchenette, a sink, a refrigerator, a two-burner propane stove, a storable swivel table, window curtains, a residential-style power outlet, a water storage tank, and a cargo-area storage unit. A replacement refrigerator fan was installed in August 2022 and a sky light was installed in April 2024.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation consisting of a 180-km/h speedometer and an analog clock with integrated coolant temperature and fuel level gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 394k kilometers (~245k miles), approximately 600 kilometers of which were added under current ownership. The ignition switch was replaced in September 2025.
The water-cooled 1.9L flat-four was rebuilt under prior ownership, and work since August 2023 included installing a revised distributor and replacing the alternator, water pump, fan belt, oil pump, horn, fuel expansion tanks, coolant pipes, and various gaskets.
The seller states the three-speed automatic transaxle was overhauled under prior ownership. Work in April 2024 included replacing the muffler, tailpipe, and transaxle pan gasket as well as replacing the transaxle fluid.
