Popular social media personalities Desmond and Kristy Scott have officially ended their marriage, confirming weeks of online speculation.
Desmond broke his silence on Sunday, admitting he made regrettable “choices” during their time together.
The divorce, which triggered widespread reactions across social media where the couple had amassed a huge following, followed reports that Kristy filed for separation in early 2026.
In a detailed statement shared on his Instagram story on Sunday, the celebrity chef accepted full responsibility for the breakdown of the marriage.
He disclosed that discussions about separation began toward the end of 2025.
“Toward the end of 2025, I wanted to separate, and I had conversations with Kristy regarding this.”
“During this period, I made choices that I am not proud of,” he stated.
Although Desmond did not elaborate on the nature of the “choices,” he confirmed that he had personally informed Kristy about them before both parties agreed to proceed with a divorce.
“I took responsibility for those actions, I shared this with her directly and personally, and ultimately we decided to divorce,” the statement read in part.
The father of two boys went on to apologise to his estranged wife, their families, and followers who had looked up to their relationship over the years.
“I want to begin by apologising to Kristy, our family, and everyone who has been impacted by the public attention surrounding this situation.”
“I know this news has been disappointing for many, and I’m truly sorry for the hurt it has caused,” he said.
Desmond emphasised that despite the end of their marriage, Kristy would always hold a significant place in his life as the mother of his children.
“Kristy is the mother of my children, and that will always come first. I remain fully committed to being an active, present, and loving parent to our boys, as I have always been,” he added.
He also revealed that both he and Kristy made genuine attempts to resolve their issues before arriving at the final decision to part ways.
“Kristy and I faced challenges and made sincere efforts to work through them,” he noted.
Desmond appealed to the public for empathy and privacy as they navigate the transition.
“I ask for privacy and compassion as we navigate this difficult chapter of our lives,” the statement said.
The popular content creator further thanked fans for their continued support and pledged to remain consistent with his online work despite the personal challenges.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. I’m grateful for that support and will continue sharing my love for cooking and the things that inspire me. I hope you’ll continue that journey with me.”
