This 1975 Triumph TR6 is said to have been the subject of a refurbishment in 2008 that included rebuilding the 2.5-liter inline-six, removing the body, and repairing the frame and floors, as well as refreshing the black interior and overhauling the suspension and brakes. Refinished in red, the car is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission, Weber carburetors, electronic ignition, a black convertible top, and 15″ steel wheels with polished rings in addition to a luggage rack, a Krako cassette stereo, and a heater. Recently acquired out of Maryland by the selling dealer, a BaT Local Partner, this TR6 is offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, owner’s and repair manuals, car and tonneau covers, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
Factory-finished in Maple (73), the car underwent a color change to red with black pinstripes under prior ownership, and the hood received dent repairs and a repaint in preparation for the sale. Exterior details include US-specification bumpers with rubber overriders, along with a replacement black convertible top and tonneau cover, a black front air dam, a left side mirror, a luggage rack, and Union Jack decals. Rocker-panel rust is noted by the selling dealer, and photos provided in the gallery below show filled panel gaps and other areas of bubbled paint.
Silver-finished 15″ steel wheels with polished trim rings are mounted with 205/70 Firestone Affinity Touring tires. Braking is provided by front discs and rear drums said to have been overhauled in 2008 along with the suspension. The selling dealer reports replacing the front wheel bearings and rear wheel cylinders in preparation for the sale.
An interior refresh in 2008 is said to have included refurbishing the seats using replacement foam and black vinyl upholstery as well as replacing the carpeting, door panels, and wood dash trim. The interior is further appointed with a heater and defroster, a Kraco digital AM/FM/cassette stereo, Kenwood speakers, a locking glovebox, and Triumph-branded rubber floor mats.
Smiths instrumentation ahead of the three-spoke steering wheel consists of a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 31k miles, approximately 50 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2.5-liter inline-six features dual Weber carburetors and was factory rated at 101 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque. A rebuild in 2008 is said to have included replacing the valves and seats, main and connecting-rod bearings, and gaskets and seals in addition to fitting an electric fuel pump, PerTronix electronic ignition, a high-torque starter, and a heat-wrapped exhaust header.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Per the selling dealer, the body was removed under prior ownership to replace the floor panels, carry out welded repairs to the frame, and refinish the underside surfaces.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists factory equipment and colors along with a dispatch date of June 30, 1975, to British Leyland Motors in Jacksonville, Florida.
