This 1957 Chevrolet Corvette was refurbished before the current owner’s 2013 purchase, and it is powered by a 270-horsepower, 283ci V8 with dual-quad carburetors. A 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission was swapped in place of the factory three-speed manual under current ownership, and additional equipment includes a beige convertible soft top, bucket seats, and a twin-cowl dash with a dash-mounted rearview mirror. The car was refinished in red with ivory coves around 15 to 20 years ago, per the selling dealer. Exterior equipment includes a beige convertible soft top, a wrap-around windshield, exterior door handles, split chrome bumpers, chrome front and rear bumperettes, and dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear bumper uprights.
The 15″ steel wheels wear covers with faux knock-off spinners and are wrapped in 205/75 Coker Classic whitewall tires. The car came equipped from the factory with an independent front suspension and semi-elliptical rear leaf springs. Braking is handled by drums at each corner.
The cabin features twin bucket seats reupholstered in red vinyl along with a color-coordinated dash, carpets, and door panels. Equipment includes a floor-mounted shifter, a clock, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror. The radio and windshield wipers do not work.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, and center-mounted instrumentation consists of a tachometer, an ammeter, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 3k miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The 283ci V8 features two four-barrel carburetors and was factory rated at 270 horsepower.
The stamping on the engine pad is shown above. The EG suffix is consistent with a 283ci V8 rated at 270 horsepower and designated for a 1957 Corvette with two four-barrel carburetors and a manual transmission.

A sealed crate of spare and removed parts is included in the sale, and the selling dealer tells us that it contains the removed three-speed manual transmission as well as associated parts such as the bellhousing and clutch.
