This 1965 Mercedes-Benz 300SE Coupe was refurbished under previous ownership and is finished in blue over dark blue leather upholstery. Power comes from a 3.0-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, and features include 14″ steel wheels with chrome covers, four-wheel disc brakes, European-style headlights, wood interior trim, a heater, a Becker Grand Prix AM/FM radio, and a retractable antenna. The car was acquired by the seller in 2021, and subsequent service involved overhauling the transmission, suspension, brakes, and fuel injection system. This W112 was listed on BaT in July 2023 and is now offered at no reserve with service records and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
Delivered from the factory in Papyrus White (717G), the car was repainted in its current shade of blue under previous ownership. Features include chrome bumpers and beltline trim, European-style headlights, a driver-side mirror, and a retractable antenna. A replacement driver’s door stop strap, rear window regulators, and inner and outer window felts were installed by Renn Haus of Sarasota, Florida, in October 2022.
Steel 14″ wheels feature chrome covers with body-color accents and are mounted with 205/75 Centra Plus whitewall radial tires. A matching spare wheel and tire are mounted in the trunk. The factory air suspension system was overhauled and fitted with replacement braided lines in October 2022. The steering box was also repaired at that time with replacement coupling bushings, while the four-wheel disc brake system was serviced with a rebuilt booster and a replacement master cylinder, front calipers, and lines.
The low-back bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in dark blue leather with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Equipment includes a Becker Grand Prix AM/FM radio, a heater, wood dash and windshield trim, three-point front seatbelts, and a rear fold-down armrest.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames VDO instrumentation including a 7k-rpm tachometer, a 220 km-h speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 8k kilometers (~5k miles), approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.0-liter M189 inline-six features an alloy block and Bosch mechanical fuel injection. A replacement fuel injector pump, oil feed hose, injectors, and spark plugs were installed in October 2022. Additional work involved adjusting the valves, repairing the radiator, and changing the oil. A plaque from Ayco Clasicos of Mexico is affixed to the right side of the cowl.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission that was overhauled in October 2022. Replacement transmission cooler hoses were also installed at that time.
