47k-Mile 1988 Lotus Esprit Turbo

This 1988 Lotus Esprit Turbo is finished in Calypso Red over multi-tone beige and gray leather upholstery, and its turbocharged 2.2-liter inline-four and a five-speed manual transaxle have been rebuilt. It has been fitted with an aftermarket exhaust system and coilover suspension, and additional features include 15″ seven-spoke OZ alloy wheels, disc brakes, a glass sunroof, a rear spoiler, pop-up headlights, fog lights, R134a-based air conditioning, and an aftermarket stereo with Apple CarPlay. Purchased by the current owner in 2024, this Esprit is offered on dealer consignment with a painted roof panel, removable wind deflector, a clean Carfax report, and a clean North Carolina title.

The car is finished in Calypso Red (A23) and has been fitted with a glass sunroof panel. The painted factory roof panel and wind deflector accompany the car. Additional exterior details include a rear spoiler, LED headlights and fog lights, and a retractable antenna. The selling dealer notes wear on various exterior body panels.

The 15″ seven-spoke OZ alloy wheels are mounted with a mixed set of Yokohama and Hankook tires, and braking is handled by ventilated discs at each corner. The suspension features polyurethane bushings, and ProTech coilovers are fitted up front, while Spax coilovers are fitted out back.

The bucket seats and center console have been re-trimmed in multi-tone gray and beige leather, and replacement carpeting is installed. ATS Racing power window boosters have been installed, along with R134a-based air conditioning and an aftermarket head unit with Apple CarPlay.

Instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for oil temperature, oil pressure, boost pressure, fuel level, and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows 47k miles, approximately 800 of which were added under current ownership.

The mid-mounted turbocharged DOHC 2.2-liter inline-four is said to have been rebuilt, and work completed since 2023 included servicing the fuel injectors and replacing the fuel pump, fuel accumulator, cold start injector, and drive belt. Modifications include a revised turbo-back exhaust system and manifold.

Power is routed to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle, which is said to have been rebuilt. The clutch master cylinder was replaced in 2023.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage from its first entry in April 1992.
